Breathe with Me by Kristen Proby

Book 7 in the With me in Seattle Series

And Breathe……..

This is by far my favourite of the whole series – it had me hook, line and sinker!

Simply put it was ……a WOW

By far the most romantic and emotionally charged of all the stories so far – this was pure passion from the very beginning, with sizzling sex and a bag loads of humour – and boy was it laugh out loud funny in parts – the girls and Jax in Vegas will live with me for a long time!

It had everything and had it is bucket loads.

Mark has been a constant in the series – only to be expected since he is the Luke and Samantha’s brother but he was always a little aloof.

In this we get to understand what he has been through, he lost his love when she moved on to pursue a career in dance, leaving him behind to face a life without her. Diving headfirst in to study he made the most of his situation and finished university a year early before heading off to take on the world or at least Alaska.

Meredith on the other hand may have flourished professionally in New York but emotionally her heart was back in Seattle with Mark.

The love she had for him never dissipating.

The story sets its stall out fairly early on, well actually that’s not the case – Mark sets his stall out early on – when he gets a chance to speak to her at the dance recital.

“We’re not friends Mark,” I reply sadly. “We’re strangers with memories.”

He nods and looks down at my phone still in his grasp. He passes it back to me with a half-smile that makes my stomach and thighs clench.

“Let’s see what we can do about that. My number is in there. The next step in up to you.”

I had my fingers crossed that she would do the right thing and make the call – I need not have worried because her best friend – the absolutely delightful Jax made damn sure she saw sense.

Mark fought for the relationship he wanted with Meredith and at times he had to fight her in order to make her see that they belonged together. Terrified that she would lose him again like everyone else that she has loved in her life, Meredith runs scared when Mark is injured in an accident.

Unwilling to be without her, once again Mark brings out the big guns to get across the point that he is not prepared to let him walk away from him again.

“I love you more than I can ever tell you. I’m sure there are pretty words that would work, but I don’t know what they are. I just know what I feel for you is so big, there’s no way that I can let you go. Please don’t ask me to. I can’t say goodbye to you, M”

“My life doesn’t work without you in it, M”

God, does this eloquent, charming, sexy man know what to say and when to say it – he constantly reassures her and provides her with enough love and support to melt the toughest of hearts. Meredith on the other hand was a tad more difficult to get a handle on – she was easy to both love and kick in equal measure. In the end though I got why she was the way she was and found that I could empathise with the feelings that were pushing her to protect her heart from the unbearable pain that losing another loved one would bring.

When push comes to shove Mark and Meredith were destined to be together and much like his brother Luke and Nat (I simply adore this pair and their little family), Mark proves that when you find the right person you fight hard to keep them.

The book does not disappoint in as much that we again are enveloped by the magnificence that always surrounds the Montgomery and Williams families and we are brought completely up to date with the details of their amazing relationships. The situation between Leo and Samantha is resolved beautifully in Vegas – and I have to say the whole Vegas scene was just hilarious – I loved every single word – laugh out loud humour of the very highest order!!

Once again Kristen Proby supplies the most beautifully descriptive and highly emotive of stories. I am enthralled by the quality and passion that she imparts into each and every word. I felt the love between Mark and Meredith oozing from every word and was completely engulfed by the emotion that emanated between them.

I am although bereft at the fact that the next novel – book 8 which is expected later this year will be the final instalment in this series – it will be hard to leave them behind.
