A Friendly Flirtation by Christine Warner

I got the impression that I was missing something from this story, now whether that was me or not I am not entirely sure but that feeling never actually left me.
I enjoyed the story, honestly I did but I was looking or a bit more.
I wanted more from Jared and Ali, I wanted the depth of their back story, a real hard look at how they became who they were and influences affected the way they thought and how they looked at not only themselves but each other.
Jared was so encouraging but I wasn’t exactly sure that he went about it in the right way or that it was for the right reason.
Ali on the other hand, while everyone has insecurities and I was happy that she was willing to take hers to task, her growth and development was my favourite part of the book, she was funny, she was so socially inept that it was funny to read her mishaps.
Perhaps I am being too harsh because the author did throw in some pretty strong secondary characters but again they had potential to be more dynamic, but perhaps there is more to come from them in the future, who knows.
Overall the story was a short, snappy read, it was enough to while away my time but not tax the grey matter, so I suppose that it fulfilled its purpose.
I will say though that the story was impeccably written, it was descriptive and presented with clarity and creativity. The story while not entirely my cup of tea for periods, was a solid read and I would recommend it.
