Crave: Part Two

The conclusion of the Crave duet has arrived and it hit my kindle with a thud of expectation, the last book as exceptional so seeing where this was going to end up was super exciting…but did it live up to expectations?

Well, before I start, I have to state the obvious…you MUST have read book one before you start this, I am saying no more and you only have yourself to blame if you ignore me!

So on to this, and I will try to keep this completely spoiler free, so here goes.

Picking up from the events at the end of the first book, Adaline was a broken soul, pushing everything and everyone she has ever loved away, her life was a series of miserable days that just strung together the weeks and years that passed, as she moved one with a life that she wasn’t even much of a participant in. I wanted to her to be able to see that the only person she was hurting as herself but she was so far gone that she was as if she was out of reach for not only Kason but those that were desperate to help.

But would it always be that way? I had my fingers crossed that it wouldn’t.

I liked that the author gave the characters time in this story, that she didn’t rush the events that’s happened them, the events that made them who and what they were now and neither did she rush the emotions that in many cases were almost overwhelming.

As hard as I felt for Adaline, it was Kason that took my breathe away. I could almost understand Adaline and what she was going through (most of the time) but with Kason, his pain was so deep seated, so ingrained that I didn’t know if he was going to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, it was impossible to predict if there was any happiness on his horizon!

I think the author dealt a hand to the characters that in real life would have been none the less traumatic, she held nothing back and ensured that as torturous and tear-filled as the read was, it was one that was impossible to put down.
