Dark Protector

This wasn’t as dark I thought it was going to be, but that doesn’t mean that it was all light and fluffy, not by a long shot, Dark Protector is somewhere in the middle maybe best described and charred around the edges.

Con is a tough nut to crack and was initially quite difficult to get a handle on but once I got a look at the childhood he had endured and I do believe that endure is the correct word on this occasion, his behaviour made sense. Everything he did, everything he was, stemmed from the misery that was his formative years.

That is right up until Charlie enters his life because then and only then does he have something to function for but it isn’t as black and white as you might think.

From his vantage point he watches as she goes about her business, keeping a vigil almost, a protective gaze on the woman that kick started his soul but that is just tantalisingly out of reach…or is she?

Charlie speaks to Con’s very core but she isn’t everything Con thinks she is, she has her own demons lurking around her and when their worlds collide, she has a decision to make …how much does she tell Con?

I loved Charlie, she was a lot tougher than she appeared and was willing to stand tall when it was needed but it was Con that stole the show for me, this was a guy that was more than the sum of all the individual parts that we were presented with, when all the little bits of his life merged together they made a man that almost defied description, a guy with a darkness at his core but who loved his woman without reproach!
