The second in the Dumont series, this was a deliciously devious read.
There were so many situations that had me scratching my head, wondering not only what was going on but why?
With more angst and attitude than I had initially anticipated, there was no stone left unturned in the author's pursuit of perfection. The characters were, or at least some of them were just to sort of folk that once I got my teeth into, I could truly despise.
Carefully created, the characterization was built upon page after page and by the time I was in a position to fully see everything that Blaise and Seraphina brought to the page, I was hustling to get it finished, urgently wondering just where their tale was heading.
Their relationship was complicated, but I think it had to be, they had too much going on for it to be anything else. Their connection was awe-inspiring they refused to let the complications of family or business get in their way and when foul play was intimated, a start choice lay in Blaise’s way …which way would he jump?
I was thrilled by the mystery that surrounded Seraphina’s father’s death and their hunt for the truth, the mystery and intrigue was edge of the seat stuff.
