Eight Days in August

Well, this came as a bit of a surprise.

I had no idea what to expect when I started to read the book because the blurb gave very little away and I think the author was actually really clever by deliberately leaving the blurb vague.

The book is only a novella, but it packs a fair bit in between the covers.

I thought the author was able to piece together a story that was unique, something I hadn’t come across before. She gave Megan such a strong role, this was a woman that took what she wanted and I mean that in every way possible but was her past indiscretion coming back to get his pound of flesh…and again I mean that in every sense of the word!

Megan’s interaction with Jasper was as fleeting as she wanted it to be…initially because she called the shots but that is not to say that’s what on the agenda now because having let her escape him once, this gorgeous man is on the hunt, determined to search down the woman that he cannot get out of his head.

The chemistry between them was hot, they pushed all the right buttons and I commend the author for the fact that she was able to give them the perfect attitude, the perfect intensity and the perfect interaction…she set their flame to flicker and allowed them to turn up the heat but they didn’t just connect between the sheets, this pair seemed to have more in common than I would have every considered possible.

The book itself didn’t take long to finish but this sharp, short but funny story will stay with me for a lot longer.
