Book two and the heat is on again and if you thought that Jada and Max were sizzling just get a load of this pair!

It is Zane and Mia front and centre in this book and I have to say that in many respects I actually enjoyed this more than book one.

I think that is because the ground work has already been done and we get another chance to catch up with the characters from the first book.

Mia is Max’s little sister and Zane is his best friend so they have known each other for years – but despite the fact that Mia has harboured a schoolgirl crush on her big brothers mate for the best part of a decade they have never acted upon it – Zane is convinced that the 7 year age difference between them is too much…foolish man.

Now Zane, I got straight off the bat, he is alpha to the core and unashamedly so and I loved him. He has his reasons for being the way he is and makes no secret about the way he is, relationships are not for him. He had his fingers not only burnt but scorched with his ex, so he is definitely sworn off serious commitment.

Mia, has no filter when it comes to the function between her brain to mouth and she is as feisty as they come, but put her alongside the formidable Zane and she is firing on all cylinders, she is so funny and completely shameless.

Ten years pussyfooting around and she has had enough so when they’re both at Max and Jada’s wedding, she takes this bull by the horns and lays out in no uncertain terms that when it comes to Zane she is definitely interested. Brave move!

But Zane as other considerations to take into account, can he move past his past, can he get over the age gap and if he can, can he convince her brother that he can be the man he would want for her?

So when they both eventually start singing from the same hymn sheet, they are a sensational couple, but they have their hands full not only with each other but also with Zane’s crazy ex Jessica and there is one incident that made my jaw hit the floor, the woman is demented!

Determined to split the two of them up she goes to the ultimate lengths to try and achieve her goal and the outcome is astonishing.

A fast paced story that sometimes lost me a little along the way bit that gave me a few hours of unadulterated escapism and that is always a good sign.
