Just One Lie

This is Mercy’s story and it isn’t at all what I had envisaged.

And although this is not the first book in the series, I have to say that reading the previous books in not obligatory as Just One Lie is perfectly comfortable being read as a stand-alone.

So what does Mercy have to say for herself – well diving right in I have to say she has a whole lot to say for herself!

This is her opportunity to show what she not only who she was… but who she is.

Life is a journey and everything along the way is a learning opportunity and this is the story of what she has been through, what she has learnt and how that has shaped her into the person she is today.

Learning to love yourself is often the toughest challenge.

I have to say thought that she was a little tough to get a handle on at times. She had so much going on that keeping up with her was almost a full time job.

But I loved the fact that she was multi-faceted, she had just so much going on that I was hooked.

Her past has her desperate to keep it exactly where it is… behind her but sometimes you have to let it catch up in order to truly move on. I didn’t always agree with the decisions she made but I appreciated the fact that she was at least trying.

The author presented cast of peripheral characters that were instrumental in my enjoyment of the book, especially Brad.  I could have throat punched Ash – I really didn’t like him at all but I think that was only accentuated by the fact that I loved Brad!

Ash was a complete ass, who really was looking out for nobody but himself and only really wanted Mercy for his own selfish needs, Brad was the complete opposite, he was such a good guy, his heart was in the right place and he wanted to make sure that Mercy could see that.

But could she?

If when you read you like to keep both your heart and mind happy, then with this you have your book because – this will do both
