I want to rave about this, honestly I do but I have an element of hesitation that is playing on my mind and just has me hovering over how much I loved this and that is never a great sign.  Whilst I adore Ms Vale and her writing and have devoured without exception everything she has ever written; I think I found this a little too safe. For me, and it may not be the same for everyone, I found that I was a little on edge, not because of the mystery or angst …no it was because I couldn’t get past the feeling it was all wrapped up a little too early for me.

Now, this is the first in a new series so who knows, that might just be the issue, I haven’t had time to bed in to the whole storyline line, after all Hancock has not only a plethora of brothers, but a whole team full of sexy as sin ball players…and that is a whole heap of testosterone to get stuck right into!

Anyway, enough of my whinging, about what I was angsty about and on to what I really enjoyed and in the main that was Hancock. I loved his kooky ways, his superstitions and his call a spade a spade directness. This was a guy that knew who and what he was and that wasn’t afraid of either…for that I will hold my hands up and say that I loved him.

Sway is a fiend when it comes to all things baseball and especially all things Hancock “Parts” Peters, so landing her dream job as the athletic trainer for his team the Texas Lumberjacks has her in seventh heaven, especially when the grumpy Mr Peters leaves her and anyone else with half a brain in no doubt that she is definitely spoken for…even though he hasn’t actually gotten that far yet! I like that Sway was a normal woman, packing a few additional pounds (who isn’t!) and working hard to provide for herself. She may work in a field that brings her into contact with guys on a daily basis but one to one relationships are a completely alien, so what is it about this gruff and grump man that has her so enamoured?

Well perhaps it was the way he made her feel, he was such a gentleman, so full of praise for her and the fact that he saw her for who she really was, her weight bore no relevance to him and that was refreshing. I adored the way he adored her.

I am looking forward to the next book in the series and I am certain that I will love these guys just as much as I have loved all of this authors other men …as the saying goes “it’s not you, it’s me!”
