Reaper's Fall by Joanna Wylde

I think it is fairly common knowledge now that I love a good MC series/novel whatever it may be, put a biker in the story and I’m all in!

But there are good biker’s series and then there is Joanna Wylde’s Reaper Series, because when it comes these bikers getting down and dirty– she has them bang to rights.

Now we got a bit of Levi “Painter” Brooks in the earlier book, Devil's Game and we read about Melanie Tucker in Reaper's Stand, but this is their story and it was worth the wait.

Painter is one of the brothers in the MC and having never really had a family of his own, since the club took him under their wing, he has found something that he has long since been looking for – somewhere that he belongs and people who genuinely care for him.

But he repays that by spending a year in prison for a crime that he didn’t commit, it is only due to the constant letters he gets from Melanie that he actually feels as if he has a link to the club that he has left behind.

Prior to his stint in jail, Painter and Melanie had what could only be described as a fleeting contact but it was enough to have piqued her interest but would Painter’s past keep her at bay?

After all what could this badass biker possibly have to offer Melanie?

Painter could never be described as a saint, he knows perfectly well that someone like him will be the ruin of Melanie and to his credit he is resolute in his belief that there is and can never be anything between them, but for how long can he keep lying to himself?

But this micro-society means that their lives are co-joined in a way that means they cannot escape each other. So when the inevitable happens and their worlds collide, there was always going to be someone taking the full force of the blast – just who that would be you will have to read and find out but I will say that neither of them are the same again.

For much of the story it looked like they were destined to destroy each other and as much as I had my fingers crossed that wouldn’t happen, I was beginning to believe that they would get their wish but there is a very fine line between love and hate and the two of them spent a fair amount of time straddling that particular fence, they go through enough angst to last a life time but when they made their commitment it was solid.

If I had to sum them up I would say that the most passionate of couples … but then again I expected no less.

I am looking forward to the next instalment – Reaper’s Fire, there is never a dull moment when you spend time in the company of these guys.
