Renegade

by Laramie Briscoe

Whitney wanted nothing more than to matter, not the superficial lip-service or disingenuous ramblings that she has been subjected to so far. With a failed marriage under her belt and an ex that to be honest she was far better off without, she was ready to put her stamp on the world again, to reassert her personality and find her happiness but was it as easy as all that or was life ready to kick up yet another surprise?

With a limited social circle, Whitney found herself with an unexpected confident, her brothers best friend Ryan (aka Renegade), no matter what, he was the guy that she could lean on, someone who saw her for the woman she was and despite the fact that there was a decade between the two of them, they just seemed to fit.

Whitney spoke to his sense of purpose, his desire to protect and for Whitney, Ryan was the rock that she knew she could steady her life with but was it all too much?

Ryan understood Whitney and he went out of his way to make sure that she knew just how much he got exactly who she was! After all he had been admiring her from a far for longer than he was ready to admit, but in his heart, he knew that he wanted nothing more than to claim her as his own and when they finally got their act together, it rocked his world just as much as hers.

Unlocking everything about Whitney was key to him and he did eventually he could to get right underneath her skin, he saw everything that she not only wanted him to see and understand but the uncomfortable stuff, the darkness that she hides deep inside.

But could he make her see that he was the guy that she could build her future on?

This was about patience, taking your time to prove that a love that is destined to last a lifetime is worth waiting for. Ryan had the patience and fortitude to make sure that Whitney never felt rushed, never felt pressure but that she knew that when she was ready he would be there for her.

I loved Ryan, he was an old head on younger shoulders and as the story travelled it did so with an easy pace, a flow that was exactly how I felt it should be. The book gave me everything I thought I was going to get and it did so with very little angst and a whole heap of excitement.
