Oh Sawyer, Sawyer, Sawyer what a man and what a filthy mouth!!!

Now I won’t say that Sawyer was the sort of man that I could like straight off the bat but I will say that over the course of the book, I grew to love him almost as much as Gretchen did. But he didn’t make it easy on me, he really was a more than a bit of an ass. He had an ego the size of Texas and the entourage that gave his substance to his delusion.

But when the author lifted back the corners and gave me a chance to see the man underneath, I began to see that there was more to this character than he was willing to show.

Gretchen got more than she bargained for when she got to know Sawyer, because despite the fact that she believed much of what she pertained to know about him, and wanted to teach him a lesson so to speak, in truth she never really knew him at all, but getting to spend time with him opened her eyes and her heart and this enigmatic man muscled his way in.

I hated that there were lies between the two of them, that they were playing games so to speak because I knew that when the truth was unveiled they were going to be left picking up the pieces of a relationship that had the makings of being able to go the distance.

This was an angst read, although at times I thought the angst was unnecessary it did create a story that both ebbed and flowed. I know there are some situations in the book that may push some reader’s sensitive button but I have to say while it took me a while to get with the program, I enjoyed the read.
