Savior

I am agog! This has got to be one of the most addictive series of books that I have read in such a long time and that is saying something!

From the prologue I was on tenterhooks wondering what the heck was going on, the mystery and savagery and the calculation, it was chilling. And from the minute I turned the first page, I was hooked, hostage to a story that consumed both my time and attention.

Piper was a victim but she was also a survivor, her sister wasn’t quite so lucky but with Piper’s help the perpetrator was brought to justice but that wasn’t a justice that she could enjoy, it didn’t provide the peace that she needed and deserved but with a determination to keep one step ahead, from the minute she was able to leave town she did just that, in fact she left the state. But years later, she is back trying to put the past behind her but is it willing to stay there?

Working at a B&B in costal Florida might not have been where she saw herself ending up but she soon realises that she actually quite likes it there, the women she works for, her little house and the sexy cop that lives next door they have all made their mark but that doesn’t mean that she is able to stop looking over her shoulder because when Logan is called in to investigate an attack and then Piper is also the victim of an attack, her past in very much all up in everyone’s business…and believe me when I say that ex sniper Logan takes not only his job as a cop but also the attachment he feels for Piper very seriously.

I liked the banter between the two of them, and the fact that they took baby steps towards acknowledging what was bubbling under the surface between the two of them. Logan was so cool, he was gently relentless if that makes any sense, he didn’t give her time to retreat into her own head, time to talk herself out of what might possibly be great for them both.

So when trouble rocks up on her doorstep it doesn’t take a genius to realise that Logan is going to stop at nothing to keep her safe, let alone the fact that his family own the B&B and having Piper living close by could potential impact on them, he isn’t willing to risk any of them being in harm’s way. I adored the alpha tendencies that Logan exhibited and will admit that while they were very hot he was actually quite subtle about them in my book, it was actually all just part and parcel of who he was, he didn’t dominate or demand per say but he was forthright and protective…smart man!

Piper thought she could handle the situation, foolish woman because despite her attempts to almost distance herself, there wasn’t a hope in hell that Logan was going to let her out of his sight and if she was being honest I think she actually quite liked having him around to lean on. I loved this pair, they just worked. I don’t know why or how but they were perfect for each other but could they survive the jeopardy that Piper faced?

I am not going to tell you who the bad guy is…read the book.

I’m not going to tell you what happens…read the book

I’m not going to tell you if they get a HEA…no seriously come on now…read the book!!!

But what I will tell you is that this is a story that you will need to make time for, it will have you thinking about it even when you don’t have the book in your hands, it will make you wonder and perhaps bring out a little of the hidden detective in you.
