Ladies please …pay attention. This will push buttons, it will test boundaries and sensitivities, this is an intensely dark read with an extra ordinary amount of both sex and violence and on occasion the boundary of sexual consent is obliterated.

While the story for may would be considered so wrong, on far too many levels, it was that, that made it magnificent!

It pulled no punches, it didn’t shy away from situations that were abrasive and toxic. I felt as if I was being felt firmly by the shoulders to keep me safe, all the while I was being shaken to my core. This is a story that leaves a mark and that is never a bad thing.

Luka Markovic is not a nice man, he is all kinds of evil, a product of an upbringing and past that have formulated a hardened soul and empty heart. He completely revels in the cold harsh world he controls. But that being said, please don’t scream but I have to admit that I kind of liked him.

Addison Drake has admired the enigmatic Luka from afar for almost two years but it isn’t until she bumps into him at a party her world takes a direction that she could have never imagined.

Luka was absorbing and as crazy as he was, I just couldn’t get enough of not only him but his past. The dynamic between him and the other men in his life, his father, brother, uncle…Wow!!!

It was impossible not to love Addison and in some ways it was easy to understand what she was going through and why she reacted the way she did. The story was captivating, yes the sex wasn’t all sunshine and flowers and yes there was way more sex than was probably necessary but when it is in the context of the events that were going on I understand why the author loaded the story.

I finished the book with a sigh of relief and a smile of contentment but I also finished the story hoping with everything I have that we will get more of the Markovic's!
