SPIDER

I was thrilled when I saw that Spider was getting his own story, I always thought that he was a man with a tale to tell and boy oh boy was he!!!

I wondered just how much the author would put him through and how much of what he had already been through we were going to get an opportunity to see and I needed have bothered because this is an author that leave nothing behind, she plays all her cards, albeit carefully but she deals with a full deck and in this book…she dealt a blinder!!

I didn’t actually know hat to expect from Spider, but I certainly know that what I got was so much more than I could have ever dreamt of. Look up Rock Star and I am sure that you will find that Spider is the dictionary definition! Don’t think that he was fantastic all the time because he wasn’t I could have willingly throttled him on many an occasion but overall, he won me over.

But the book wasn’t all about Spider, nope he had to have a sidekick, someone to bounce off an fall into and for him, that was Rose, who I totally adored, she was a real gem, a feisty but flawed jewel who was every bit as amazing as I could have wanted.  Neither of them had had things all their own way, they both had, had lives that were far from easy but in my book, that just highlighted the fact that they were perfect for each other. But darn it, the author didn’t make it easy for the pair of them, they had to work hard for what she was willing to give them.

Emotionally this was tough at times and I am not ashamed to admit that the tissue box took a bit of a battering, but I survived…only just with my heart intact.
