Unraveled

Angie’s patience with her boyfriend has been hanging by a thread lately and when he drops her like a hot potato, yet again in favour of business, that thread finally snaps, and she calls time on their relationship. But where one door closes, another one opens, isn’t that the case?

Cade was a great character and when Angie met him at a local club named Allswell, I thought they could have possibilities, but I wasn’t sure that she was in the right place to actually do anything about it, I mean it’s never easy calling time on a long-term relationship and while I thought she had done the right thing, I was surprised that she was ready to strike up a new relationship quite so quickly.

I have to say that Angie really was determined woman, because starting out on her own may have been unexpected but that didn’t mean that she wasn’t willing to embrace it in every way. She moved into a new apartment and stepped up to the plate at work, determined to show that she was a force to be reckoned with and working with Cade as a client wasn’t too much of a hardship!

I thought that the story was a written well, I liked the characters and I liked their development, but I would have liked an opportunity for Angie to take stock and flex some muscle a little earlier on in the story, I loved that she found her backbone eventually and told not only Roland but her Mother exactly what she needed too but for me, it took her a little too long to get to that point. But that being said I have to admit that is actually my only criticism.

I would like to highlight one aspect of the book and that is the plethora of superb secondary characters. Angie’s sister Tene was fantastic and they had the sort of relationship that shone off the page, but it was for me eclipsed by the Ryder brothers – Cade and his brothers Jordan and Wyatt, those guys were epic.
