A read that whilst I am not always a fan of the whole friends to lovers’ genre, that by midway had me totally won over.

I must admit I was a little doubtful as to whether the full extent of their disdain for each other was ever fully clarified and that was only because I didn’t get the impression that they truly “hated” each other quite as much as was implied but I suppose that is open to interpretation…so well played Ms. Keeland.

From the outset they seemed almost reluctant to put themselves in either the friends or lovers camp, much happier straddling both as and when necessary.

Don’t get me wrong there were times when it seemed impossible to know just how they could even make their way to something more, but that niggle that pecked away at me was tempered when they connected completely because when that happened …wow did the sparks fly.

Bennett and Annalise were great characters, they were engaging, and I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent with them. I liked that they were intense, that they weren’t ordinary, because that meant that they were totally unpredictable.

Bennett wasn’t always the sort of guy that you would immediately take to heart, but Annalise was more than a match for him, and I have to say that it was that edge that I found most appealing.

Not everything was as I imagined, there were a number of twists and turns that I had not anticipated which was a very pleasant surprise. I finished the book in one sitting, and I am glad I did, it was a fabulous balance of both pleasure and pain – it had everything you would have imagined and a few others that you might just not have thought of.
