When Stars Collide by Micalea Smeltzer

Book two in the series, for me this is one of those books that I think it is fairy important to have read the first of the series before you pick it up. So I don’t think I would be the only reader to have had a quick whip through Rae of Sunshine prior to opening the front cover.

There is something really sweet about the story and I am not sure if that is what the author was going for, but I’m not being derogatory because its charm spoken to me in as much as I found it really engaging.

The story was so romantic, it was about making a decision and sticking to your guns, about doing what it takes to have what you want and being prepared to work for that end result.

Thea and Xander are in Vegas and we all know the old saying that what happens in Vegas stays there, well if only that was the case because for this pair, the piece of paper that they wake up with telling them they are now married means that they have a very quick decision to make, admit they made a huge mistake and have their quickie marriage dissolved or give what they have a shot and embrace their new status, after all they said I do.

But can they make their marriage work?

I like this pair, they are open and understanding, they talk things through, they gave themselves the opportunity to actually succeed. Of course it wasn’t all smooth sailing but it was actually less traumatic than I thought it was going to be.

I liked the authors writing style, she isn’t too complicated, she lays everything out and gives the characters the opportunity to shine. She filled the story with super characters, the connection with Rae and Cade and their families brought their lives to life.

I hope that with the next book, we will get the opportunity to catch up with them again and that we can get a little more of their story, although I have to say that I can’t wait to get the new couple under my belt!

If you are looking for a romantic interlude in your life, then you can halt your search …. this will tick all the boxes.
