When life kicked Tatum it really left its mark!

Dealing her the mother of all low blows, Tatum lost her parents and found out that her boyfriend was screwing around behind her back all within a few hours of each other, I mean holy cow if that isn’t enough to tip anyone but the already mentally unstable over the edge, I don’t know what is.

Tatum thought she had it all but was eventually left empty and alone, with the exception of her best friend Leah.

Leah and her soon to be husband are relocating to plead with Tatum to join them, so with nothing and no-one to keep her in Ohio – she mothballs the house and heads off into the sunset!

I loved the Richards family, and when Blaise meets Tatum, the draw is instant. Blaise has what he wants in life but has never met “the one” all that changes the second he lays eyes on Tatum – understanding it though takes a little longer.

Tattooed, good guy for a change – Blaise and his twin brother Asher own their own Tattoo shop and both are part time fire fighters in the station where their father is chief.

But while Asher has found himself his soul mate, Blaise is still on the proverbial shelf. Enjoying the merchandise on offer and up until now was definitely still just browsing.

A pep talk from both his dad and Asher, opens his eyes to the fact that his HEA has just landed in his lap – all he has to do now is to make her see that history will not repeat itself and she can trust him to love her completely.

The scene where Tatum is involved in the traffic accident and Blaise is panic stricken at the roadside while his brother and father fight to save her is beautifully written, as is much of the whole book.

But I found the story to be fairly light reading, no major surprises and not enough back history. I would have loved to have had a little more depth to the characters.

The speed with which their relationship evolved was breakneck!

This is not to say that I didn’t enjoy the book because I did, very much so! It is the perfect way to while away a few hours on a rainy day – quintessential escapism!
