A speedy read that drew me in, chewed me up and spat me out the other side with barely time to draw breath.

Told from dual points of view I thought the author presented a couple that had a lot going on and that were willing to share every aspect with me (the reader) and oh, be prepared to read for the fan because when this pair get down to business…the result is HOT!!!

Barclay and Tessa were fabulous together, the banter between the two of them was absolutely on point and resulted in a story that was so much more than just a forbidden romance.

Tessa had just having finished college and she came across initially as a little naive and but that didn’t deter, she was ready to strike out on her own and had applied for a great new job, a step on her career path but is all her hard work about to be scuppered when she meets a handsome stranger in a bar and he turns out to be her future boss!

There is no rebound for a guy like Barclay, he may have just come out of a long-term relationship but having a woman on his arm is no longer vital for him, as long as he has a woman that is willing to accommodate his need for control…don’t be disheartened, he may have alpha tendencies but he is more than that label would imply. And when his life crashes head first into that of shy retiring Tessa, his plans might just need to be re-assessed.

As much as their connection was glorious, it was also one that will also reduce you to tears, I had my heart in my mouth and a tissue in my hand more often than I had thought possible. As the story unfolded I couldn’t help but feel sad for the things they were going through, sad that they had a love that was for all intents and purpose forbidden. But would it remain that way?
