Chained by Jaimie Roberts

Yet again Jaimie Roberts has blown my mind – this is just staggering!

This is a complex story, one that not only demands attention, it deserves it.

Emotionally the book will take you on a roller-coaster of emotions but I have to say that no matter the down, I thought Olivia was a beautiful character.

I lived her emotions with her and she really did appear to be battling with her internal conflict much of the time, she was so kind, she loved the people who she worked with and helped at the soup kitchen, truly able to put herself in their position.

But the character “uncle” was someone that I found that I couldn’t and didn’t want to get to know, he made my skin crawl and I felt the fear that he imparted in Olivia.

Be prepared to ride the rough times, because this book really is not for the faint hearted, it is dark at times but it is worth the effort. Olivia is a ray of light, you will simply adore her character and I have to say by the end she really had won my heart, because her heart was just so inspirational.

I really don’t want to give too much away because this is a book that I honestly believe you should read – it is a perfectly balance dichotomy of light and dark, but it is a thrilling read, one that is impossible to predict but compelling.

I have to say that a perfect book for a dark day under the duvet!
