Cowboy Come Home

I’ve enjoyed this series so far, the guys from the rodeo have all managed to find a way to hold my attention, although I would have to say that with Boone, I wasn’t exactly sure that I was going to make it to the end, he was a good guy but the real crux of their story just took a little too long to spring to life for me.

The rodeo had been Boone’s life for the best part of a decade and it was where he was happiest but when he met Piper the two of them struck up a relationship that brought a few more benefits to their friendship.

I got that this was only going to lead to at least one of them looking for something more eventually but I wasn’t exactly sure that either of them were going to be in a position to commit to that scenario.

I liked Boone but at times I really didn’t understand him, he was unnecessarily obtuse at times and for the most part he was lucky that Piper was prepared to put up with him, he didn’t seem to see what was immediately in front of him and I can only imagine how frustrating that must have been for a straight-talking woman like Piper. I liked that she was determined, she had her focus and she didn’t deviate no matter how easy it would have been to do so.

Could they find a way to resolve their difficulties or would their summer romance be all they got?

The story moved at a steady pace, the descriptions painted a fabulous picture and the secondary characters were a superb addition to the story, overall this isn’t my favourite of the series so far but that isn’t to say that it isn’t a great read because it is.

A quick read that is the perfect way to while away a few hours
