Wishful Thinking

Emotionally wrung out!

This is a story like nothing I have read for such a long time, it has most certainly found its way onto my favourites list.

It centres on Lexie a nurse on the oncology ward who goes above and beyond all things rational to keep the kids she cares for happy.

She will stop at nothing to make their dreams come true and if that includes having to put up with the sinful Kaleb then she is prepared to suffer him.

Their first meeting was superb, she really is such a firecracker and no matter the fact that he is a super rock star, and she isn’t prepared to put up with his attitude. Really she gets so p***ed at him, I couldn’t help but smile.

Lexie goes to see Kaleb’s band the Dragon Knights in concert hoping that she might be able to grab a minute of two with him to ask him to meet with one of her patients.

Of course that was never and I do mean never going to go smoothly – it is an unmitigated disaster but what might have started off on the wrong foot, soon saw its way to something more.

Because the rest of the story had me desperately flipping through the pages, eager to find out what was going to happen next.

Kaleb and Lexie had so much in common, they just didn’t know it at first. But when they did , it is a meeting of minds so to speak, and they took my breath away.

But they had a lot of learning to do and a lot adjustments to make and damn did they have a lot of angst directed their way – could they survive it all? And not to mention the doozy of a secret that Kaleb manages to keep from her and the guys… really Kaleb, hang your head in shame!

This was a story that was heart-warming and touching on so many levels. It lightened my spirit and brought hope to the fact that each and every one of us has the opportunity to make a difference.

It brought forward the opportunity to see that no matter how broken your soul may be, you might just be the catalyst to something life changing
